History of the BBS

1979

The BBS School of Languages is established by School Director Mr Wilhelm Aichele. The fundamental concept of the BBS is to provide small classes and qualified native teachers to promote optimal results.

1980

Just one year later, training courses are offered in commercial correspondence in the languages English, French, Spanish and Italian.

1983

The Secretarial School is established as a branch of the BBS.

1987

The German Ministry for Culture and Sport in Stuttgart awards the BBS with state recognition for its 2-year Commercial Language Assistant training courses.

1990

In addition, the courses European Management Assistant and Language Management Assistant receive state recognition.

1995

A cooperation with Lincoln University in England is initiated. BBS students, who successfully complete the European Management Assistant course, can go on to study a further year in England and acquire a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree.

1996

The BBS becomes an examining school for the London Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI).

2000

A BBS student achieves the best LCCI results world-wide in ‘English for Business Level 2’.

2003

Again, a BBS student receives the best LCCI results world-wide in ‘English for Business Level 3’.

2004

The BBS celebrates its 25. Anniversary. The festivities are attended by the Mayor of Baden-Baden, Dr Sigrun Lang.

2007

A BBS student receives the best results in the final examination for Commercial Language Assistant at the German Chamber of Commerce (IHK).

2011

Further universities in England cooperate with the BBS. For the first time eight BBS students continue their studies at the University of Brighton.

2011

The BBS obtains the official quality award (ISO 9001).
